You can find documents of the Mainpower application for resource consent on the Hurnnui District Council site and then to services and then to planning and then to Mt Cass. If you wish to make a submission on this application you may do so by sending a written submission to Hurunui District Council at 66 Carters Road, PO Box 13 Amberley. The submission must be on Form 13. Copies of this form are also available from the Hurunui District Council.

The Canterbury Biodiversity Stratergy is available on the ECan website. Note that the Hurunui District Council did not sign up to this prefering to develop their own but little information is available on this at present.

Google Earth: If you are a Google Earth User just enter "Mt Cass Canterbury".  The ridge extends East North East from the Mt Cass summit, only about the half of the ridge closest to Mt Cass itself is covered with patches of vegetation. Alternatively here is a link to Mt Cass on Google Maps.

The DoC report 'The Ecologocial and Amenity values of the Mount Cass Ridge' is not available online however we can email you a pdf copy on request.

'Support' wind farm - Of couse we disagree with this which seems just a lazy reproduction of a Mainpower release but you can leave comments so we encourage you to do just that. http://www.stuff.co.nz/thepress/4596470a26332.html

Speigel Online with some photos and comments on the European (German) experience with windfarms. While there are come spectacular "disaster" photos included these are the exception rather than the rule for windfarms. http://www.spiegel.de/fotostrecke/0,5538,24219,00.html
